Rajouri, Poonch districts of Jammu too require Government attention on Kashmir pattern

Jammu, Sept 20: Like Kashmir Division, many Districts of Jammu Division including Rajouri, Poonch, Reasi has also suffered massive damages to public infrastructure flesh flood that marooned the state of Jammu and Kashmir in first week of this month. The flood victims of Jammu Division feels themselves isolated and neglected on part of the government and alleged that Omar Abdullah, his ministers, MLA,s, MLC's and party leaders are playing appeasing politics on the name of Kashmir floods , while neglecting the sufferings of the people of Jammu Division.
As per the details available with "Early times", out of 280 dead, 159 bodies have been recovered in Jammu and out of these 159 dead, over 100 people died alone in Rajouri and Poonch Districts, beside 44 members of a marriage party washed in Rajouri are still untraceable, while in Kashmir province the death toll as a result of floods as of now is 74. The flood furry not only claims the lives of over 100 people in Rajouri and Poonch Districts, but several houses, school buildings, roads, government infrastructure also suffered massive damages in the floods. As per tentative details available with "Early Times", over 10000 houses were damaged alone in Rajouri District, while around 7000 houses got damaged in Poonch District which include 594 concrete structures, 2008 Kachha houses and 448 concrete houses and 3788 Kachha houses were partially damaged. 28 schools were also damaged in Poonch District, beside 165 school buildings were partially damaged. The agriculture and horticulture also suffered massive damages in both the Districts. Around 30000 Kanals of agriculture land reportedly washed alone in Poonch District while the figure is above 20000 Kanals in Rajouri District.
Several angry people while talking to "Early Times", said that people of Jammu region are suffering on account of political trust deficit, added that even local leadership of ruling coalition government rescue of the people feeling burnt and agony of flesh flood. They said that majority of the politicians has fixed its focus on valley "political pitch" and said that government failed to come up to the expectations of the people who are at the mercy of God. They said that government neither done its justice with people of Jammu Division nor with the people of Kashmir Division where army takes the leads in rescue and relief operations along with local NGOs, volunteers and people from adjoining Districts of Srinagar comes to their rescue. The flood affected victims of Jammu Division wants equal attention from the government and relief teams from rest of the country towards the suffering and agony of the people of Jammu Division like they were showing pain towards the sufferers of Kashmir Division.
"Under constitution of India' every citizen enjoys equal rights--- no matter from which region, religion, caste, creed or color he belongs from," said angry flood victim of Jammu who was ignored by the system during grief hours. The people informed that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah along with MoS Home Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo visited Poonch and Rajouri Districts, added that they too fail to give any sucker to the affected people. They further informed that Omar Abdullah's close confidant MLC Davinder Rana, Cabinet Minister Ajay Sadotra, MLC Javed Rana, MLC Dr. Shahnaz Ganie and other politicians from ruling party are presently on two days tour of Rajouri & Poonch Districts, allege that they too instead of taking some fruitful steps were busy in holding public meetings with zero result. Other than Rajouri and Poonch Districts, Reasi, Udhampur, Ramban, Kathua, Samba, Doda and Kishtwar also suffered damages in floods.
