Two months left for 5th semester, 4th semester exams going on in JU | | | GS Asgotra JAMMU, Oct 10: The University of Jammu (JU) has gone into hibernation at a crucial time. Two months are left for fifth semester of LLB course but the examination for fourth semester are still going on. Moreover, the B.Ed, which is officially completed in one year may take more time as the exams are not concluded yet. Students of 4th semester of Law department informed Early Times that the exact time to conduct examination of 4th semester was in June and exam of 5th semester to be concluded by December but the exams of 4th semester were not concluded yet. "Except Law department, the students of other departments have already enrolled in next semester and have even completed half of syllabus of next semester but we are waiting for completion of exams for the last one and half month", the student said. He further said that instead of mending the ways, administration was least bothered about the studies. "The exams of 5th semester are to be held in December but we have only two months left, in which it is impossible to complete the syllabus", another student said, alleging that some ill-behaved students have been pressurizing the administration to postpone the exams and administration agreed, due to reasons best known to them. "It is inefficiency of HOD Law department and Controller Examination, who have failed to conduct exams timely", another student said, adding that Vice Chancellor should personally intervene in the matter and take action against HOD Law department and the ill-behaved students, who were also involved in mass copying and had recently abused a professor in front of all. Moreover the examination of B.Ed is also delayed, creating problems for students pursuing higher studies or pursuing courses in other institutions. Sushil Kumar, a student of Central University of Jammu told this correspondent that the date sheet of mid-term examination of MA in CUJ and B.Ed exam overlapped. "I missed my midterm examination and taking B.Ed annual examination and I know it is very difficult to persuade CUJ authorities to conduct re-examination", he said. When this correspondent contacted Keshav Sharma, register of University told that he was not authorized to comment on that matter and it concerned to Controller Examination and HOD. But the HOD of Law department and Controller examination didn't pick up their phones. |
