JAMMU, Oct 10: Government Degree College (GDC) Kathua shall be playing against Government Mahant Bachiter Singh (MBS) College of Engineering and Technology in the inter-college men's hockey final at K K Hakhu Stadium, here. The final is slated to be held on October 13 at 11.30 am at the same venue. Earlier, in the semifinals, played today, GDC Kathua defeated Government MAM College 2-0. Tanvir Singh and Mohit Singh were the scorers who sounded the board in the dying 53rd and 56th minute of the match. In another semifinal, MBS College trounced GDC Poonch 4-1. Jaggan Singh helped the side make it a big win striking in the 35th and 41st minute. Other two goals came through Sarabjit Singh (15th) and Novdeep Singh (59th). The only goal from GDC Poonch scored by Saval Ahmed. Meanwhile, in the women's hockey tournament, GDC Poonch shall take on Post Graduate (PG) Arts in the final scheduled to be held at 10 am on October 13 at K K Hakhu Stadium, here. In the semifinals, played today, GDC Poonch outplayed Government College for Women (GCW) Parade 3-2 in tie breaker. Earlier, the match ended in a goalless draw in the stipulated time. Manpreet Kour, Aiena Sharma and Minakshi Khajuria were the successful penalty shooters from winning Poonch side while Anjali Sharma and Neha Sharma could only beat the goalkeeper from GCW Parade. Today's semifinals officiated by the technical penal comprising D Singh, Jagjit Singh, Jasbir Singh, and Joginder Singh under the guidance of competition incharge PD Singh. |
