Early Times Report

Udhampur, Jan 22 : Prominent social activist & director Sky High India Social Organisation Aman Kalsotra has condemned the railway authorities' decision of stopping DMU train on the track of Udhampur station. This decision of railway authorities has proved to be a great inconvenience to tourists and local passengers of DMU, he said. Addressing large number of gathering of prominent and daily passers of DMU Kalsotra said that this DMU is very popular among the visitors from other states who come to Jammu & Kashmir to visit holy shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi Ji & other picnic spots due to the natural hilly scene in between the Jammu Udhampur Katra track route.
Further tourist from other states also feel relaxed due to DMU being very low in fare and easy shifting from Jammu railway station for onward journey of tourists.
Aman Kalsotra further said that in past railway authorities accepted the demands in favour of passenger & locals and expressed hope that Union Ministry & railway authorities would restart DMU train in between Udhampur Jammu in favour of local passengers and tourist without wasting of time.
Kalsotra further demanded adding of DMUs from Jammu to Katra via Udhampur to meet the heavy challenge of increasing passengers & visitors on these stations which is also proposed by Union Minister Dr. Jitender Singh recently and all trains running between Jammu-Udhampur-Katra deemed as local to facilitate locals passengers.
On demand of prominent citizens Kalsotra also urged the Union Govt that in wake of oil & petrol prices slashed, fairs of commercial & passenger vehicles and gas cylinder are also required to cut down immediately to facilitate the citizens of the country.
Members of the organization further disclosed that if the demands were not taken into consideration immediately they will further chalk out their future agitation strategy program in next meeting.
