Locals hold protest over 'unauthorized closer' of Govt School

Rajouri, Jan 22: Locals, students and their parents staged a protest demonstration in village Danna in Darhal of Rajouri alleging that the Govt Primary School in their locality is unauthorized by observed closure for the last 15 days taking toll of the academics of students.
Reports said that Govt Primary School situated a village Danna in Darhal tehsil and on main Rajouri-Darhal road alleged is closed for the last more than 15 days reasons better known to the authorities at helms of affairs
Mohd Latief, Mohd Yusuf and parents of the students alleged that the school was close without any notification for the last 15 days forcing them to hold a protest today in front of the school. The protestors had warned the authorities to make the school operational or they will close the road.
Addressing the protestors prominent social and political worker Liyakat Ali said that three teachers including Rehaber-e Taleem (ReT) were looking after the affairs before winter vacations in the month of December. He added of the three, one has gone to PoJK to meet her relatives, ReT teacher joined in his original place of posting while the third an 'attachee' at this school also was directed to joined at his original place resulting the school to forcible closure. HA Fani, Chief Education Officer (CEO) when contacted said that the matter has been brought to his notice today and Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) has been directed to make the school functioning on Friday by deputing a teacher from nearby school till the permanent arrangements are made.
He however added the department has been facing acute shortage of teaching staff and most of the government schools in far flung areas are functioning on attachment/adjustment basis.
He added that he has been seeking day to day directions from the higher authorities to avoid any such situations.
