Jammu, Jan 30: Carrying on it's mission ahead to develop and maintain better Police-Public relations, District Police Jammu today organized an open Volley Ball tournament at Jagti Township Nagrota under Civic Action Porgramme 2014-15. Around 8 Volley Ball teams namely Manwal, Jhajjarkotli, Jagti (Local), Jagti (Migrants), Jagti High School, Kamini Nagrota, Sidhra-A and Sidhra -B have participated in the tournament where Jagti (Migrants) team has emerged as the winner of the tournament and got the winner trophy whereas Sidhra-A team got the runner-up trophy. Large number of spectators were present at the occasion prominent among those were Santosh Kumar Pandita, Principal Govt. HSS Migrants Jagti (Chief Guest), Shadi Lal Pandita (Guest of Honour), Rameshwer Dutt Serpanch Nagrota, Rajesh Samayal, Moti Lal Bhat, PN Koul, Rehmat Ali Serpanch Bajalta. Khaliq Hussain, SDPO Nagrota who has organized the tournament on behalf of SSP Jammu was also present along with Inspector Vinod Kumar SHO Nagrota, SI Hilal Mohd Azhar SHO Jhajjarkotli and SI Mohd Arif, in-charge police post Sidhra and other police staff. Trophies were presented to the winner as well as runner up teams besides mementoes, Medals, Track Suites and cash rewards were also presented to all the players of both the teams by the chief guest accompanied by Rajiv Panday IPS SP (Rural) Jammu. SP (Rural) Jammu while speaking on the occasion lauded the emotions and dedications displayed by the players and encouraged them a lot. He explained properly the importance of sports for youths in prevailing circumstances and imparted a detail briefing to the participants with regard to the demerits of smoking as well as drugs habits which are influencing the youths nowadays. The tournament got concluded in a cordial, congenial and friendly atmosphere. |
