Jammu, Jan 30: Voluntary Retired Services (VRS) SRTC employees on Friday stages protest demonstration in favour of their pending demands. Addressing the gathering, association president Dev Raj Bali criticized the adamant attitude of the Jammu and Kashmir Transport Higher Authority and Finance Department, for not releasing our pending dues and employees have been struggling for the same for the last more than 5 years and these departments are bent upon to harass us. “It clearly indicates that these two departments are in connivance with each other as the bills for our pending dues and arrears are ready in' all respects and are lying in their offices for release but they are not releasing our pending dues reasons are not known to us. They are unable to understand why we have been grinded up,” he stated and adding whereas in the long struggle of 5 years for their legitimate dues 9 VRS employees of the J&K SRTC have died because they did not afford expenses for their medical treatment. He asked that who is responsible for this irreparable loss to the families of the deceased. These two departments did not care at all and we are unable to understand what is motive behind this harassment. They appealed to NN Vohra to please save employees from the cruel clutches of these officials by releasing our dues which comes to the tune of Rs.30,16,10,673.00 and the bills complete in all respects are lying in the office of Finance Department Jammu.
