Early Times Reports

Jammu, Feb 1 : The leader of Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) and former Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Bishnah, Ashwani Sharma said that his party is committed to provide relief to border residents who have been suffering from cross border shelling.
According to press release, the union government has taken several steps to address the woes of these border residents and process has started by identifying land in Kathua district for them, he said. The similar package is offing for border residents of Arnia and other areas of Bishnah constituency living close to zero line.
Addressing a public meeting at Trewa in Arnia sector, Ashwani Sharma said that those parties who are playing politics on the name of relief and rehabilitation of border people are not aware of the ground situation and initiatives taken by union government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It is because of the efforts of the union government that compensation is being provided to the people whose houses have been damaged in the shelling.
He said that even Pakistan is aware of this fact that India is retaliating with great intensity. "Our government at the centre is not compromising with the defence of the country and has retaliated with much more force to the Pakistani shelling. We want peace on borders and between the two countries but not at the cost of lives of our soldiers and people living on the border, "Sharma said adding that Pakistan must put an end to the cross border shelling and terrorism.
Paying tribute to the slain Army officer, Colonel MN Rai and head constable Sanjeevan Singh for laying their lives for the sovereignty of the country, Ashwani Sharma said that their sacrifice will be remembered till long. Those separatists who glorify the terrorism and terrorists shouldn't cross their limits otherwise they will have to pay a heavy price for their deeds the former MLA said.
Maintaining that he will continue to work for the welfare of people of Bishnah constituency in general and border residents in particular, Ashwani Sharma said that in future also he will not leave his people alone.
"My sole aim is to work for the welfare of my people and the society which will not stop at any cost whether I am MLA or not. Winning or losing elections is part of politics but I have remained connected with people and in future also this bond will be further strengthening," he added.
