Right to property, solitary solution to dowry menace
Sunaina Malik (Rajouri)2/18/2015 10:29:51 PM
Amid infinite number of cruelties of our so called be
nevolent male, over female folk, dowry menace is the
most atrocious, hideous and heart bleeding of all cruelties. It is the cold blooded slaughter of a female's emotions, aspirations, expectations, persona and body. The person for whom a girl dreams to be her(Sapno ka Raja), the family for whom, she desert her real parents, the house for which she departs her birth place, soon turned into a fiery grave, with awful ghosts. Irony over this is, that innocent and affable girl come to meet with this ghastly face of her life, just because her parents botch to quench the unrelenting money thrust of her in- laws. This feral nature of gluttonous husband and boorish in-laws have forced our naive daughter-in-laws to live a incessant life of embarrassment, twinge, tribulations, agony and disquiet.
Butchery of the persons, to whom a girl destiny is linked, by her parents, does not end only up to, inflicting sting and scores on her body and soul, but this wilderness end up, by final obliteration of female persona by blazing, hanging, poisoning, stabbing or embarrassing her to the level that she could commit suicide. Because of these beast, in the form of tarnish people, with every passing hour, 1 female is losing her precious life in India, for dowry demands (Times of India.com). Here I want to query that, Is this a kind of world or societies God desires from us? Is with this intention God has created us, that we our self would become our scavengers, quenching our thrust by each other's blood. I am quite sure that God would also feel shame, on His this creature.
Man has even crossed wild animals in his compete of wilderness, as a carnivore kill a prey, only to satisfy his appetite, but man is sucking the blood of his counterpart, just for money. Undoubtly it is a matter of great pity.
Although request, payment and acceptance of dowry is prohibited, under dowry prohibition law 1961 and Indian laws also set sever castigation for perpetrator under section 498(a) of Indian penal code (enacted in 1983). In addition to this our Indian women are also quite sovereign, to put a impede to dowry harassment by approaching to domestic violence protection officer, under protection of woman from domestic violence act 2005(PWDVA). Even than this misdemeanor is mounting, with every passing day, With an average figure of 27969 dowry deaths in the year 2001 as per NCRB (The Hindu. Com). This number has amplified up to 63171 up to 2010(Times of India . com). To our revelation this number is still rising by leaps and bound and becoming a great peril to sovernity, security and safety of Indian women. Our country also has highest number of dowry death in the world, according to Indian national crime record Bureau(NCRB).
World wide organizations, like Amnesty International, UNICEF and other Human Rights organizations, time and again raised their voices against this heinous transgression, but sorry to say all in vain. Today every nation is working hard, in bringing their country on the map of modernization, but pitiable and naïve girls are still awaiting righteousness. In this glooming world of barbarism, the only ray of hope, is the enactment of a strong (Right to property act) for females. This law will unravel this butchery, by following ways
(1)The first and foremost upshot of this law would be, it will make every girl economically sovereign.
(2)Secondly it will gratify the interminable monetary lust of in-laws family, as it will guarantee the fix amount of money gain from daughter in-law, which is not in case of dowry trade. Unfixed amount of dowry, encourages voracious people, for time and again dowry benefit from girl's family.
(3)This law would act multidimensional, as it will also impede curse of female foeticide in India, because the moment a girl would be entitled to have equal share in her parental assets, she would also be accountable, to take care of her parents during their old age. It also destroys the need of only son, for take care during their last times. In the end, it is a prime time to alter old dusted laws, because change is the law of nature and history speaks, all those nations which resist amends, lag behind in the chase of expansion and opulence.
