VIJAYPUR, Feb 18: In order to aware the masses about the value of Girl Education, District Information Centre (DIC), Samba today organized a multilingual Mushaira at Shahazadpur, Vijaypur of district Samba.
A large number of local poets participated in this programme and recited their poems concerning Beti Bachao Beti Padhao and aimed to address gender imbalance and discrimination against the fairer sex especially the girl child.
Among those who recited their works included Ramesh Bhat, Kuldeep Dogra, Satpaul, Ajit Pal Sharma, Ravi Dutta, Tara Chand, Chajju Singh, Bishan Singh and Naresh Kumar.
Earlier Panch of village Tej Ram who was the chief guest on the occasion in his address appreciated District Information Department for organising such a programme to highlight important social issues and promoting the local language.
Among others Cultural Asstt DIC Balbir Singh and large number of locals including women participated in the function. |
