GDC Rajouri organizes symposium

Rajouri, Mar 15:A symposium on "Truth and Non-Violence" was organised by GDC Rajouri in collaboration with Gandhi Global Family J&K State. Padamshri SP Varma Vice President Gandhi Global Family was the Chief Guest of the occasion and the proceedings of the function were presided over by Dr. J. A. Qazi Principal of the College whereas Dr. Shakeel Ahmed Raina Principal GDC Budhal was the Guest of honour whereas Bashir Ahmed Shawl District President Gandhi Global Family and Abdul Majid Bichoo Advisor Gandhi Global Family were special persons of the event.
As many as 10 participants from various Colleges of Rajouri and Poonch displayed their hold participation in the event. Prof M. Farooq Mirza, Prof. Javed Mughal and Dr. Nazakat Hussain were on the panel of the judges. Prof. Mohd Iqbal Raina conducted the proceedings of the programmes and the welcome note was readout by Dr. MK Waqar. Padamshri S.P. Varma, spoke in details about the vision and mission of Gandhi Global Family and exhorted one and all to conserve and propagate the legacy of Truth and Non-violence propounded by Mahatma Gandhi to every nook and corner of the world.
Dr. JA Qazi the Principal of the College, appreciating the efforts of the Gandhi Global Family, impressed upon the audience to practically implement the philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi in their day to day life and further stressed that in the present age of turmoil and turbulence, there is an instant significance of Gandhian Philosophy.
Abdul Majid Bichoo and Dr. Shakeel Ahmed Raina also shed a spot light on the relevance of Gandhian Philosophy in the present day life. Prof. Farooq Mirza, Prof. Javed Mughal and Dr. Nazakat Qureshi were on the panel of the judges to evaluate the performance of the participants. Prof. Mohd Iqbal Raina successfully anchored the proceedings of the function and Dr. M. K. Waqar welcomed the guests and the audience. The first position with cash prize of Rs. 5000/- was captured by Ahlam Mir of GDC Rajouri, whereas the second and third ranks worth Rs. 3000/- and 2000/- respectively went to the credit of Aliya Iqbal of HEM Degree College and Zahid Farooq of GDC Budhal.
