| Disgraced lady medico vows to fight for justice | | Gets support of medical fraternity, Jammuites | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 15: As the stalemate continues between the medico and the minister brawl that has taken the entire Jammu waiting for a logical decision, nothing seems to reach a conclusion.
The doctor who alleges to have been abused by the minister had been waiting for a police response which came negative to her. She has now decided to move court for justice.
But as the things are taking some other shape with social, local and some political organizations, besides doctors, too coming in her support, she has expressed her gratitude to all saying that she would wait for incident to take shape of a movement before some action is initiated from some quarter.
" No doubt, I would be pursing this incident to the logical conclusion, but I am blessed by my medical fraternity as well as the unprecedented support being extended from all quarters which I think would shape up in a movement in the town and then only the government in slumber will wake up, " said Dr Gurmeet kour , the aggrieved medico who was challenged by the minister for health and medical Lal Singh who she alleges to have tried to outrage her modesty in the public view while passing on derogatory remarks to her.
Talking to early Times, Dr Gurmeet said that it is quite ironical that none of the political party in te government approached her with any kind of solace or assurance to take up the matter against the minister which is quite apparent of the fact that government to which she had voted to power is nonchalant with the common people.
" I had thought that immediate action would be initiated against the misbehavior of the minister and the Bhartiya Janta party would take cognizance of the matter , but nothing of the sort happened. Even the female cadre of the party that boasts of taking care of the female rights and other women rights commissions that often come costumed on electronic and print media with big words about women rights are too mum in Jammu,' said Dr Gurmeet Kour.
She however said that she cared two hoots for such ignominy shown by the women commissions and organizations of the sate that she has vowed to fight her case alone and would knock at the doors of the court to seek justice.
She also blamed the police department for acting cowardly while budging down to the might of a minister and reposed full faith in the judiciary of the state saying that to reach at the logical conclusion she would go to the extent of the supreme court too , if need arose.
Meanwhile the doctors union supported by much social, local and political organization has given a call for secretariat march tomorrow that would start from the government college Jammu and culminate at the civil secretariat.
" I simply need the support and love of the people of Jammu which I know is beside me and I would see that justice is meted out to a female disgraced by a minister in democracy," said the lion hearted Dr Gurmeet kour.
I is pertinent to mention here that only social and other local organizations have come in support o Gurmeet Kour besides her doctors' fraternity while all other 'self-styled' organizations which are vocal in media only have hidden themselves in the rat holes as they know speaking in favor of Dr Gurnmeet kour would be a dent to their petty gains which they share in the democratic government of Jammu and Kashmir. |
