JKOA holds general body meet 4/19/2015 11:00:01 PM Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 19: General body meeting of Jammu and Kashmir Olympic Association was held today at GOS Police Mess Gandhi Nagar under the chairmanship of Rangil Singh, President of the Association. All members were of the view to present Cash Awards to the tune of One lac to the Gold Medalists, Fifty Thousand to the Silver Medalists, Rs. 31, 000/- to the Bronze Medalists and 21 thousand to the Coaches for which all Associations voluntarily offered to contribute hard some amount to make the Award ceremony a Grand Success. Associations were requested to donate the amount within 7 days. State Basket Ball Association formed in 1973 with S. Rangil Singh as president and Late . N.K. Malhotra as General Secretary, (An Affiliated unit of J&K Olympic Association) which held their electioins in the month of December 2014 reviving their activity was granted affiliation. However, they were asked to hold fresh elections inviting observer from J&K Sports Council, J&K Olympic Association and Basketball Federation of India. It was decided to hold the elections of J&K Olympic Associations in the last week of May 2015 as the same being done in April. It was decided to constitute a committee to give the final shape to the Medal Ceremony. President was authorized to nominate the committee members.
