Will ensure zero tolerance in future, says DGP

SRINAGAR, Apr 19: In view of the Narbal Incident in which one youth lost his life Director General of Police K Rajendra Kumar on Sunday said that such incidents will never be tolerated and asserted that Police will ensure zero tolerance in future.
Talking to Reporters, Director General of Police K Rajendra Kumar said that Police will ensure zero tolerance in future. 'I assure that Police will ensure zero tolerance in future. 'I have directed all the officials to follow strictly SOP while dealing with law and order problem. ' such incidents will not be tolerated in future I have directed all the SSP's and SDPO's to conduct a meeting with SHO's and ask them to follow SOP in letter and spirit' he said. Meanwhile according to a statement issued to, DGP chairs high level meeting to review the situation in valley; Assures full justice in Narbal firing incident.
DGP was also given detailed briefing about today's incident in Narbal in which one person lost his life.DGP emphasized that justice be delivered to the victim family taking into account the complete facts of the incident. He expressed deep sorrow over the loss of precious human life and conveyed his sympathies with bereaved family. He directed the officers present in the meeting to ensure that such incidents aren't repeated in future. He enjoined upon the officers to convey the rank and file to strictly adhere to laid down SOPs while dealing with law and order situations.
The meeting discussed the measures to be taken to ensure that law and order is maintained and at the same time situations should not be allowed to develop to a level which has negative fallout. He asked all the forces to work with utmost zeal and professionalism to ensure peaceful situation to prevail. DGP also said that nobody will be allowed to derail the peaceful atmosphere and law will take its own course in all such matters.
