Strict restrictions fizzle out 'Sopore Chalo' of Separatists

Srinagar, June 19: Strictly thwarting 'Sopore Chalo' call of Separatists, authorities while taking preventive measures imposed restrictions in areas coming under seven Police stations of Srinagar and detained Syed Ali Shah Geelani again after he attempted to defy house detention.
Following the Sopore Chalo call given by Separatist factions of Hardliner Syed Ali Shah Geelani and Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, authorities placed strict restrictions in areas coming under police stations of volatile Maisuma, Parimpora, Khanyar, Maharaj Gunj, Nowhatta, Safakadal and Rainawari to thwart attempts of disrupting peace by separatist leaders. As the first day of Ramadhan in Kashmir coincided with shutdown and restrictions, normal life remained disturbed in some parts of Srinagar of Central Kashmir and Sopore town of North Kashmir. To avert any tragedy authorities had put barricades on all roads leading to seven police stations of Srinagar and also did not allowed people to offer Friday prayers here in Historic 'Jamia' Mosque of Srinagar. Senior Separatist leaders which include Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai were placed under house detention by authorities while as Police had detained Yaseen Malik and Shabir Shah on Thursday to foil their Sopore Chalo Programme.
In Batamaloo of Srinagar, Ganderbal and Budgam of Central Kashmir and in most parts of south and North Kashmir Private and even passenger Vehicles could be seen plying on roads and shops and other business establishments remained open.
Hardliner Syed Ali Shah Geelani who is under house detention this morning according to sources tried to give slip to Police personals posted outside his residence,however was detained once again.
Sources said that Geelani who along with his associated tried to break his house detention was however detained by police outside his residence in Hyderpora of Srinagar and from there he was taken to Humhama Police station for Precautionary measures.
Working on to expose people hoisting ISIS and Pakistani flags during rallies of Separatists in Kashmir according to sources Police have so far detained dozens of boys from different areas of North Kashmir and also have recovered Pakistani flags from the possessions of two youths and arrested both of them.
Sources informed Early Times that during two raids police recovered Pakistan flags from two boys who were later identified as Waseem Ahmad Dar of Soura Srinagar and Suhail Ahmad Begh of Baramulla.
Police sources said that investigation in connection with recent killings in Sopore is on right track and very soon Police will come up with all the details about attacks on mobile telecommunications and former militants in the area.
As ISIS and Pakistani flag Hoisting in Separatist rallies gave birth to hue and cry among political circles, Police acting tough on the issue according to sources identified two boys with the help of Close Circuit Television Cameras (CCTV) in Nowhatta area.
Police Sources believe that both the boys had hoisted Pakistan and ISIS flags in recent past and added that their role in hoisting ISIS flag is also being ascertained.
