JAMMU, June 19: Axe is likely to fall on the perpetrator of infamous Kalakot murder case of July 2014, as the Chief Minister Mufti Mohd Sayeed today directed Deputy Inspector General of Police Rajouri-Poonch Range to re investigate the case after constituting fresh SIT. Sources informed Early Times that the Chief Minister has directed police department to re-investigate the matter. "The Chief Minister directed DIG Rajouri-Poonch range to constitute a new Special Investigation Team (SIT) to unearth the heinous crime in which two sisters and a police constable were murdered at Tharmal Colony Kalakot on July 27, 2014, after meeting a ten members delegation from Noushera along-with Transport Minister Ab Ghani Kohli, this morning", they added.
They further said that the delegation apprised the Chief Minister about police's inaction to nab the culprits. The delegation also complained the CM, about police's discriminatory attitude with an intention to protect the accused. "We (Family members and relatives girls and police constable) had faced wrath of police many times demanding CBI probe. But, our plea remained un-notice by previous government", said family member of victims, adding that though a SIT was constituted, but the police instead of putting culprits beyond the bar, 'shielded' them.
"We have understood that police instead of digging-up the mystery has been trying to hush-up the matter, as autopsy of the bodies of deceased (Urmila and Nishu) was not conducted", they added.
"Police had picked and tortured several persons, and also forced them to leave the agitation. SIT was aware about the case and had tried to hush-up the case. Even police had tried to mislead people, by constructing a cover story that constable Sanjay had killed both girls and shot himself, was fake and factious", they asserted. They further said that if the inquiry goes independently, the culprits would be beyond bar very soon.
