Early Times Report Jammu, June 19: Taking cognizance over a complaint regarding allegedly duping of compensation by ICICI Lombard Insurance Company- brand name in private insurance sector, the J&K State Consumer Redressal Commission has served notices to Chairman/Managing Director (CMD) ICICI Lombard General Insurance Co Ltd, Mumbai and Branch Manager ICICI Lombard General Insurance Co. Ltd Bahu Plaza, Jammu. As per aggrieved consumer, he tried his best to get his claims finding no resolutions, he is left with no option but to knock the door of the J&K State Consumer Redressal Commission for justice and to get compensation upto the tune of Rs 50 lakh. Narrating his odd experiences with ICICI Lombard Insurance Company, aggrieved Arvind Kalra s/o Baldev Raj Kalra r/o H.No 16 B/C Gandhi Nagar, Jammu said, "After failure on the part of the Insurance Company to respond the legal notice by him he took the case to State Consumer Commissioner. Meanwhile based on his complaint, the J&K State Consumer Redressal Commission has issued notice to the Chairman Cum Managing Director ICICI Lombard General Insurance Co. Ltd, Mumbai and Branch Manager ICICI Lombard General Insurance Co. Ltd Bahu Plaza, Jammu. Sharing details of his case, the consumer said that he was put to pass through unwarranted mental agony when the Insurance Company showed its unenthusiastic and reluctant approach to pay compensation against the Luxurious BMW Car which was got insured by the very company. "The vehicle bearing regd no BMW-XI SDRIVE 20 D was fully insured and the same was renewed vide private car package policy with additional covers for own damage and loss as well, he said. "My ordeal started when his vehicle got damaged in an accident, he said, adding, "the vehicle was later taken to the M/S Krishna Automobiles, the dealer of BMW and the repair costs to Rs 2,54,760." "I felt duped when company despite going through all legal formalities including visuals and photographs , the company adopted a dilly dallying approach in this matter and left me virtually cast off, he resented and added that the agitated over company's response I took up the matter to State Consumer Commission.
