NCB orgainzes rally against Drug Abuse , Illicit Trafficing | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, June 26: 26th June is celebrated as "International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking" worldwide to raise public awareness against the menace of drugs. The Government authorities of the entire world also use this occasion to acquaint the public with the steps taken by Governments against drug abuse and illicit trafficking in narcotic drug and psychotropic substances. On this occasion, the Narcotics Control Bureau, Jammu organized a rally today in which approximately 300 personnel of various law enforcement and other agencies directly or indirectly related with the drug related crimes viz. J&K Police, BSF, J&K Society for promotion of Youth and Masses(JKSPYM), Sports Office, J & K Taek-Wando Association Jammu and NGOs participated. The rally started from Nanak Nagar Gurudawara, marched through Gole market and culminated in the DussehraGround, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu. The rally was flagged off by Danesh Rana, IPS, IGP Jammu Range and other prominent persons also participated in this rally included Sindhu Sharma, ASGI, High Court Jammu, DN Pangotra General Secretary of J &K Tae Kwando, Palvi Singh, Project Manager, JKSPYM and others. Manoj Kumar, Zonal Director, NCB Zonal Unit Jammu shared his views and emphasized the need of the issue since the problems of the drug abuse is effecting the mass section of the society especially youths. He further stressed that a lot of work is still required to be done by the Law Enforcement Agencies towards the demand of reduction by organizing awareness programme throughout the year. |
