Infighting in BJP: Deputy Chief Minister deliberately skips Gadkari's function | | | Sanjay Pathak Early Times Report KATHUA, June 26: It was result of the infighting in the "disciplined" BJP that Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh has deliberately skipped the function which was organised to lay foundation stone of construction of two lane bridge over the river Ravi at village Keerian-Gandial under inter-state connectivity of CRF scheme. Minister for Surface Transport, Highways and Shipping Nitin Gadkari came all the way to inaugurate this bridge but Deputy Chief Minister skipped the function. Officially supporters of Dr Nirmal Singh were claiming that the Deputy Chief Minister had gone to Delhi to attend a conference organized by the Urban Development Department in which Prime Minister, Narendra Modi was the chief guest. But, internal sources said that Deputy Chief Minister was not ready to attend a function in which his arch rival Union Minister, Dr Jitendra Singh was the chief guest. Deputy Chief Minister had attended a function at Delhi on Wednesday but he was very much present at Srinagar today and if he wanted to reach the venue at Kathua, he could have done it without much fuss. "Dr Nirmal Singh's supporters feel that being the senior most leader representing one of the five constituencies of the district and on top of it being the Deputy Chief Minister he is not getting the honour and respect he deserves from the party top brass…This was the main reason of his skipping today's event otherwise he could have easily reached Kathua to attend the function by using state chopper," sources said and added that Union Minister, Dr Jitendra Singh has also taken credit of this project so Deputy Chief Minister do not wanted to be part of that function. Source close to Dr Nirmal Singh said that Deputy Chief Minister has objection over making his arch rival in BJP as chief guest in the function. In the government advertisement which was issued today it was mentioned that function would be held in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister. |
