Kathua, June 26: Thousands of posts are lying vacant in several public sector departments, most of which have never been advertised.
Genuine aspirants said the posts are meant for favourites who get extension after extension. Hundreds of retired bureaucrats continue to work in various departments including Finance, Revenue, Education, PDD, PWD, PHE, Health etc.
Ironically, a few employees are working in Tehsil office Kathua without any government orders issued by any authority. The irony is that the Tehsildhar Kathua entrust important jobs like reporting for OBC, SC, ST, income certificates for BPL cards and other government launched beneficial schemes to them.
Retired employees from revenue department like Harnam Singh, retired clerk, are openly working in Tehsil office Kathua that functions from DDC complex but nobody takes note of the irregularity. An unauthorized person, Harnam Singh openly reports the status of OBC, SC, ST, minorities, BPL etc. When contacted Harnam Singh and other retired employees said the retired officers try to help the department than self interest.
Harnam said he works as a volunteer forthe welfare of the people. The Tehsildhar Kathua, Avtar Singh Jasrotia who functions from same complex falsely refused to have the knowledge of such menace. It is impossible that retired employees work, make huge money from similar office Tehsildhar Kathua said he has no knowledge about the issue. The Tehsildhar accused the clerks before media and forbade them not to hand over important documents to retired officers.
People demanded appropriate measures. |
