Katra, June 25: Army Engineers of the Crossed Swords Division constructed a new transient facility for defence personal at Katra visiting Vaishno Devi Shrine.
The complex was inaugurated on June 24, by Lt Gen KH Singh, AVSM, YSM, Corps Cdr of 16 Corps. The complete complex is fully air conditioned and has a waiting shed, washrooms and cold drinking water facilities for the visitors.
A new 150 KVA transformer has also been installed to cater for the power supply required for the newly constructed complex. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Maj Gen Kulpreet Singh, GOC Crossed Swords Division and several other senior officers.
Every year more than 1, 00,000 army soldiers, both serving and retired, and their families visit Katra for holy darshan of Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine. |
