BSNL set up mobile tower at 16,000 feet in Ladakh with Army's help | | | Early Times Report Srinagar, Jun 26: The Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has set up highest mobile tower in Eastern Ladakh at an altitude of 16,000 feet above sea-level with the help of the Army. The tower started operation from today, Defence Ministry spokesman S D Goswami said. He said the mobile tower was operationalised today in a joint effort by the BSNL and Indian Army. The tower provides vital communication link to one of the remotest locations of Eastern Ladakh at Chongtash wich has been established with assistance from the Indian Armys Trishul Signallers in terms of transportation, setting up and rearward connectivity. The Indian Army with this effort continues to contribute towards development of communication infrastructure for benefit of the local population of Ladakh. |
