AKHNOOR, June 26 : The KC Sports Club today qualified for the semifinals of the ongoing Summer Cup Twenty20 Cricket Tournament, organised by Singh Club Akhnoor at Government Higher Secondary School ground, here. In today's quarterfinal, KC Sports Club defeated Street Warriors by seven wickets. Batting first, after winning the toss, Street Warriors set a challenging total of 198 runs for nine wickets, which, in reply, KC Sports Club chased in 19 overs losing only three wickets. Sumit Rajput made highest 40-ball 65 runs while Dilawar Singh played superb innings of 44 runs coming off just 16 deliveries. Sahil Mishra contributed 22-ball 29 runs. From KC Club, Arun Choudhary emerged as most successful bowler with four wickets, including hat trick. Abhishek, Shubrat and Aakash shared apiece each. Later, KC Sports Club chased the total, courtesy brilliant century from Ateev, who made 61-ball 102 runs. Amrit scored 26-ball 53 runs while Suryansh added 15-ball 25 runs. Deepak took most of the three wickets from Street Warriors. For his superb century, Ateev was obvious choice for the man of the match title. Vikas Bali and Rajinder Sharma were umpires in today's match while Jyoti Parkash was the scorer. FIXTURE : Cantonment Cricket Club shall take on YSCE at 9 am, followed by the second match between NCC and NCCC at 2 pm on June 28. |
