Simula, Patel win ties in Chevrolet Cup

JAMMU, July 4: Simula Cricket Club (SCC) and Patel Cricket Club (PCC) won their respective matches to consolidate their position the league round of the ongoing Chevrolet Cricket Cup 2015 at KC Public School ground, here today.
With today's win, Simula has won third straight match to equal the points' tally of Shastri Cricket Club which too has won three games in group-C. Similarly, Patel Club won second of the third outing to maintain second place in group-A.
Earlier, in the first match of the day, Simula defeated Shastri Club easily by nine wickets. Batting first, after winning the toss, Shastri made 93 runs in given 20 overs. Amit and Gourav were top scorers with 25 and 14 runs in their respective accounts. Puneet and Thapa took two wickets each from Simula.
In reply, Simula chased the easy target of 94 runs in just 6.4 over losing one wicket. Puneet scored highest 39 runs and Atul Sharma made 36. Mohit took the only wicket lost by Simula.
Puneet was named man of the match for his 39 runs and two wickets. Abhijot Singh Bedi, Rajinder Singh and Honey Chib were officials of this match.
Meanwhile, in another match of the day, Patel Club outplayed Chopra Cricket Academy (CCA) by five wickets. After winning the toss and batting first, CCA made 78 runs in 20 overs. Deepak Dogra and Abishek Abrol made 17 and 15 runs respectively. Vicky took three wickets and Santbakesh bagged two from Patel Club.
Batting second, Patel Club attained the goal easily for the loss of five wickets that too sparing 5.4 overs of their innings. Abhinav Puri scored 28 runs, followed by Gulshan, who added 21 runs to the total. Vicky was declared man of the match for his three wickets haul. Sadiq Hussain Malik, Bunty Kumar and Honey Chib officiated this match.
