Early Times Report Jammu, July 4: On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Jammu S. Simrandeep Singh and Commissioner, Jammu Municipality Corporation (JMC), Saujanya Sharma, inspections were conducted for meat/mutton and other eatables shops by the joint teams of JMC, CAPD, Metrology Department, Drug and Food Department, and Police Department. According to press release, the teams headed by the Municipal Veterinary Officer/Zonal Officer-II (Sanitation) Dr. Zaffar Iqbal and the officers of the above said departments. The drive started from Panjtirthi, CPO Chowk, Kachi Chawni, Shahidi Chowk, Talab Khatikan etc. The meat/chicken sellers are directed to maintain proper hygienic conditions in their shops and provide good quality of chicken/meat to general public and not to keep meat in open. Beside this, the cooked food shopkeepers were also directed to serve good quality of food and asked to prepare all the food in proper hygienic conditions and also directed them to use commercial gas cylinders instead of domestic LPG to avoid heavy penalty. During the drive, awareness were also spreading among the shopkeepers for use of the gloves, wearing of aprons and caps while preparing/handling/cooking the food items and not to use polythene carry bags. The shopkeepers also directed to display the rate list at appropriate place in their shops. |
