Sikhs not to allow saffronization of DGPC Jammu: Elected members
7/23/2015 11:35:05 PM
Early Times Report

JAMMU, July 23: Sikhs will not allow the saffronization of DGPC Jammu at any cost, said Avtar Singh Khalsa, Member DGPC Jammu while addressing a joint press conference by five elected members of DGPC Jammu.
The members including Avtar Singh Khalsa, Fateh Singh, Ramneek Singh, Raja Singh and Darbinder Singh said that inviting a BJP Leader to the DGPC Jammu office without the consent of the complete house is against the spirit of the collective responsibility to which the members of DGPC Jammu are supposed to adhere. More so because of the reason that this BJP Leader, Kavinder Gupta, was the man who was responsible for creating the situation last month in which a Sikh youth died in the police firing. It was at the behest of Kavinder Gupta that the poster was removed and the trouble started resulting into the martyrdom of an innocent Sikh boy, they said. The DGPC members further said that Gupta was the man behind this episode and it is shameful that the sycophants in DGPC Jammu are not only inviting such a person but also requesting him for extending the time limit of the judicial enquiry being conducted by Divisional Commissioner Jammu where as the Sikh community has demanded the probe by a sitting High Court Judge. It seems that certain people are out to sell the community for their vested interest. All the members condemned in one voice the attempt of some mischievous elements including DGPC Jammu members to push the Sikh Community into the RSS fold via BJP.
