BSNL 'Connecting India' is just a slogan

Jammu, July 23: Though the officials of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) have claimed that they have been left no stone unturned to improve connectivity of BSNL, but lack of accountability among the officials has forced the BSNL subscriber to rely on private telecom players.
From the past one week poor connectivity either in mobile or in internet services, has disconnected people rather than connecting them but the authorities remain in slumber.
A subscriber of broadband services alleged that he repeatedly apprised to department concerned regarding poor connectivity of BSNL service but the officials have failed to heed the problem. "In peak season, when pilgrims of Amarnath Shrine Cave visits his cyber café for tickets, I found myself pushed to the wall due to poor connectivity", he said.
Official in department, wishing anonymity informed Early Times that during any festival usually the services of the primer telecom company, BSNL go down, adding, "Since the Yatra of Amarnath Shrine Cave begun, the BSNL is not running properly.
"BSNL had already announced facility of roaming free across the country but despite that due to mismanagement of authority and lack of accountability among officials, some subscribers of BSNL have been forced to opt for private service providers.
An employee who recently got superannuation alleged that an unholy nexus has been operating between officials and private players for many years which have been deliberately tried to sick BSNL so that the private players could be successful to attract the more costumers.
Another subscriber, Sunil Sharma said that poor connectivity and frequent call drops has made mockery of the BSNL slogans 'Connecting India'.
GMT of BSNL Jammu, Goutam Lal said that due to damaged cable in Gangyal area, the networks of broadband have broken down, adding the reason behind the frequently call drops is either congestion or BTS down", he said. He assured that the department has tried their best to provide best services to our customers.
