CUK, NAAC seminar on 'Quality Concerns in Higher Edu' from Aug 24 | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, July 26 : Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and School of Education of the Central University of Kashmir (CUK) in association with National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) is organising a two-day National seminar on "Quality Concerns In Higher Education," from August 24, 2015, at the University. According to the Dean School of Education, Prof. N A Nadeem, it is time for all those who are concerned with policymaking, planning, administration and implementation of Higher Education, to revitalize the very thinking on the subject and put it on the right track. "It is high time that this topic be deliberated upon in the context of contemporary Indian Higher Education and in order to contribute to this debate, we are holding this seminar," he said. Prof. Nadeem said the themes of the seminar are: Challenges and opportunities in Indian higher education; Emerging trends in higher education; Knowledge management and dissemination and assessment, Evaluation and examination reforms. He said that these themes have been further divided into the sub-themes the details of which are given on the University website. He further elaborated that the academic papers have been solicited from all the stakeholders, which should reach the University by or before August 5, 2015. Officiating VC, Prof. Mehraj udDin, while detailing out the contours of the programme opined that all the major stakeholders would put their heads together during the event and come up with comprehensive recommendations vis-à-vis the seminar theme. Registrar, Prof. M Afzal Zargar, pledged to provide all the administrative support to the programme to make it successful and productive event. He also hoped that the role and support of the administration in improving the quality issues of the higher education can also be discussed during the two-day programme. |
