Srinagar, Aug 25: Central University of Kashmir (CUK) officiating Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mehraj-ud-Din today underscored the need for preservation of languages, cultures and ethos of particular regions, particularly in J&K. "The language, literature and culture are extremely important characters of any region and if we are able to preserve them for our future generations, it will be an achievement for us and we shall be doing a great service to our community," Prof Mehraj ud Din said. In his inaugural address of the three-day national seminar organised by the Department of English, Central University of Kashmir (CUK), the special guest lauded the English department for organising the seminar. He said that language in any part of the world has been deeply influenced by the regimes coming to power at a particular time. He said the University was exploring the option of setting up a Centre. |
