Missing of inauguration plate irks BJP MLA 8/26/2015 12:10:49 AM Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 25: Missing of the inauguration plate at the site of newly installed 250 KVA Transformer at Ware House Jammu so irked the local BJP MLA that he went to the extent of threatening concerned Engineer and others of dire consequences. The said BJP MLA allegedly warned the Engineer and other PDD staff that they would face the music if an inauguration plate with his name was not installed near the new Transformer by the evening. The ego of BJP leader could be satisfied only after the Department officials put an inauguration hoarding near the Transformer and sent pictures of the same to the MLA on Whatsapp. According to the sources in PDD, the BJP MLA telephonically conveyed to the concerned Engineer that he was going to inaugurate an Electric Transformer at Ware House next day and they should remain present on the occasion. Acting on instructions of the MLA, the PDD Engineer along with other staff reached the site before inauguration by assuming that he was called there to brief about the transformer and the power supply line in the area. After the MLA reached there in his official vehicle, the Engineer started briefing him about the transformer and the power supply. However, instead of showing any interest about the power supply system and related issues, the MLA was more interested about the arrangements for inauguration function and his name plate at the site. Sensing the mentality of the MLA, the Engineer immediately rushed his men to arrange a ribbon and scissor and a formally inauguration ceremony was held amidst clapping by the persons assembled there. However, all this not satisfied the MLA who was visibly angry over missing of an inauguration plate at the site, eyewitnesses said. After the ceremony was over, sources said that the MLA told the PDD Engineer to ensure that an inauguration plate is immediately installed there so that the public could know that the said transformer was inaugurated by him. As the Engineer sought to explain that arranging an inauguration plate within hours was not possible, the MLA allegedly threatened action against the officer and left the scene. To save themselves from the wrath of crazy MLA, sources said that the PDD officials managed a flex with the wording that such transformer was inaugurated by the said MLA and put this hoarding near the Transformer.
