Jammu, Aug 25: Residents of Bari Brahmana Tuesday held a strong protest demonstration against the Power Development Department (PDD) for early restoration of power supply in their area. According to press release, the protestors were chanting slogans against the department concerned and alleged that for the last couple of days, the transformer had gone kaput but due to lackadaisical approach of the department, the damaged transformer has not changed.
"Despite repeatedly apprised to officials concerned regarding electricity failure but still the department has been not restored the electricity", said Raman Gupta, a local resident.
He further said that in hot and humid weather, the people have faced hardships and spending sleepless nights and the PDD was made a mute spectator. |
