Rs 1700 fine realized from erring shopkeepers

BANIHAL, Aug 28: In a surprise market check today a team lead by Tanveer-ul-Majid Tehsildar Khari consisting of officials of CAPD, PWD and other essential services deports inspected vegetable sellers and other shopkeepers selling LPG and other essential commodities.
During this market checking in newly created tehsil Khari of district Ramban commodity quality, prices and availability of stock were thoroughly checked. An amount of Rs 1700 was recovered as fine from the erring shopkeepers. The shopkeepers were directed to keep their licenses and rate lists issued by respective authorities at conspicuous places in their shops.
People who unnecessarily unload sand and other house building materials on road causing nuisance to the passersby were given one days time to remove the nuisances failing which action under rules shall initiate. PWD officers were directed to ensure application of provisions of Ribbon development Act in case of defaulters.
