Akshay Azad Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 16: The Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) have decided to conduct screening test in various subjects, only after complete scrutiny of all the applications received by Commission for 1608 posts of Assistant Professor for Government Degree Colleges. Sources informed Early Times that they have received nearly 10,000 applications from the aspirants in various subjects against 1608 posts of Assistant Professor for Colleges. One advertisement notice for posts of Assistant Professors was published in 2013 and another in 2014 and after initial scrutiny of application forms received, it has come to fore that many candidates have filled the application forms twice, the official said. "Earlier it was decided to conduct screening test in eight subjects BBA, Chemistry, Commerce, Economics, Environment Sciences, Political Science, Sociology and Urdu but after a meeting of Commission it is now decided that firstly the scrutiny of all the application forms will be conducted before conducting the screening test", the official said. JKPSC Secretary Shakeel-ul-Rehman was contacted he said that due to filling of application forms twice by many applicants, the number of applications might has increased. "The Commission is on job to scrutinize all application forms in all subjects. We also have to scrutinize whether the candidates who have applied had qualified NET, SLET, Ph.D before notification of 2013 or not. Besides the M.Phil candidates will also be scrutinized", he said. He further said that screening test would only be conducted in those subjects in which the number of applications would be more than 350 applications. "Syllabus for screening test will only be finalized and uploaded after complete scrutiny of all applications in all subjects", he said. He further said that the subjects in which application forms were nearly 200-250, interviews would be conducted soon. "Our priority is to conduct interviews and hopefully in the first week of December, we will start interviews in various subjects", he said.
