Jammu, Nov 17 : An alleged recruitment scandal has surfaced in the state in which computer type test for various posts was preponed "to adjust some blue-eyed candidates." In 2013, the Service Selection Board (SSB) had advertised various posts of junior assistant in division and district cadre of various government departments. Finally, this year on August 26, the SSB shortlisted candidates for computer type test. "November 17 was fixed for typing test of district Doda cadre from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm," said an aspirant. He said hundreds of aspirants from Doda reached NIELIT Centre Jammu, New University Campus, University of Jammu, but the NIELIT authorities said there was no test being held at the centre. "How is it possible that once the SSB had declared the date, the time and venue was preponed. It clearly reflects that they have appointed some blue-eyed candidates," said the aspirants. SSB Secretary S.A. Raina said he was unaware about the matter. "Such type of exam is conducted by division officer, you may contact him," he told Early Times. When contacted, the division officer said the notification for the test was revised and it was sent to Information Department for publishing in the print media. "The test was conducted last month," he said without explaining why the test was preponed. Meanwhile, the aspirants have appealed Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed to initiate an enquiry against the SSB members who preponed the type test and "cheated hundreds of aspirants belonging to remote areas." |
