Jammu, Jan 24 : Indian Cultural Forum (ICF) under its galaxy series organized Geet Rang at K L Seigal Hall, Cultural Academy, Jammu, for the upliftment of music, literature, art and cultural heritage of the country. The proramme was based on the poetry of Sahitya Akademi Award winner Dogri poet Sita Ram Sapolia of Deyaani (Samba). Seven songs from his latest book 'Chetein Dee Samhaal' were presented by the renowned singers of the state. A Musical Video CD album of Rabjot Singh was also released in this special programme. Rabjot Singh, a life member of ICF, is a sensational voice in the field of music. The programme was presided over by Om Goswami, a veteran Dogri writer. Prof. Reeta Jitendera was the Chief Guest, Prof. Veena Gupta, D C Raina, senior Advocate, J&K High Court were the guests of honour and Vijay Singh Samyal, Station Director, Radio Kashmir Jammu was Special Guest on this occasion. Prof. Lalit Magotra, Chief Patron of the Forum, in his welcome address highlighted the activities of the Forum and introduced a vast range of the programmes to be organized by the forum in near future. Musical evening started with a song sung by Shyam Manyal in Raag Yaman Kalyan. Manju Bala a veteran singer presented a song 'Lagga hirkhey da rog' in Raag Bhairavi, which was well appreciated by the audience. Rabjot Singh sang a song 'Us soun bani nitt roye' in Raag Pahari which gathered a huge round of applause. Gursharan Kour, Manju Bala and Apoorva Jamwal presented a song 'Merey aarhooyan par bolda ei kaan bhabiye' in Raag Shobhawari. Sita Ram Sapolia himself recited two of his songs on the demand of audience. Apoorva Jamwal sang a song in Raag Pahari. Gursharan Kour in her rich voice presented 'Asein masaan karee chann ha manaya' in Raag Tilang. Sham Sajan, President/Director of ICF sang a song in Raag Pahari. Raj Kumar Behrupia an all-round anchor of the state anchored the programme in a very refined manner. Gyaneshwar Sharma a renowned Dogri poet delivered Vote of Thanks. A galaxy of writers, poets, artists, critics, singers, musicians and experts from other walks of life were present in the programme. |
