Tandon was illegally elevated as SRTC's MD 1/25/2016 12:11:52 PM Avinash Azad Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 24: More skeletons are tumbling out from the cupboard of former National Conference regime as it has been relvealed that 'tainted' bureaucrat J STandon was illegally elevated as Managing Director of JKSRTC without approval from Board of Directors. Minister for Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution and Transport Minister Qamar Ali Akhoon in the previous Omar Abdullah-led state government had bypassed BoDs to extend undue benefits to Tandon. "I am directed to refer your letter number JKSRTC/MD/PS/076 dated 17-06-2009 on subject cited above and convey the approval of Chief Minister (Chairman) Board of Directors, JKSRTC for deployment of JS Tandon, General Manager as Joint Director against the available sanctioned post/ as per recruitment rules and eligibility for a period of six months in the first instance, in his own pay and grade without prejudice to the superior claim/ seniority of others and subject to outcomes of the writ petition/ court cases, in any pending", order number of TR/67/SRTC/2006, dated06-07-2009 reads. Sources further said that tailoring the norms back to back two promotions were extended to Tandon within one year. "JS Tandon had been elevated as Managing Director, within one year of his elevation as Joint Managing Director, for a period of six months", sources said, adding that undue benefits were extended to Tandon by the then Minister concerned. "Appointed as Joint Managing Director on temporarily basis for a period of six months, Tandon joined as Managing Director on June 1, 2010 till he was forcibly retired as deadwood by the PDP-BJP government on June 30, 2015", sources added.
