Jammu, Jan 24 : The members of School Education Employees Coordinatin Committee Jammu held meeting today under the chairmahip of Narinder Singh Jamwal Provincial President. While addressing the members, Narinder Singh Jamwal condemned the vindictive attitude of Education Higher authorities in Kashsmir Valley towards the teaching fraternity, particulary trade union activists saying that taking part in trade unionism for protection of rights and betterment of employment is constitutional right of employee. Ganesh Khajuria highlighted various problems being faced by the employees such as regularization of Principals/ZEOs/Lecturers/ Head masters/RETs , release of Mid Day Meal grants on time, pending cases of time bound promotions, holding of DPC of 10+2 lecturers in all disciplines etc. He rued that instead of mitigating these problems , the government is deliverately diverting the attention of people to other issues further said adding that the government is using the screening test of ReTs as a tool to harass the entire ReT community as High Court has ordered the screening of only those who have obtained fake degrees.
The speakers warned the government to address the burning issues soon in order to avoid congrontation with the trade union activits otherwise any delay on this account will adversely affect the academic atmosphere of Education Department. The Committee also decided to support the protest call given by J&K Teachers Forum on Kashmir to demonstrate unity and solidarity for the cause of teaching fraternity.
