REASI, Jan 24: In the wake of the recent terror attack on the Pathankot Airbase, Dinanagar Police Station, Gurdaspur (Punjab) and increasing threat posed by terrorism / extremism in J&K, Spl. DG (SDG), CRPF, J&K zone SK Bhagat, IG Jammu Sector Kuldeep Dhar and DIG (Ops) Jammu North Mool Chand Panwar arrived at Army helipad via chopper of Indian Air Force for review of security of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine. SDG, CRPF, J&K zone was received by Commandant 6 Bn, CRPF Sunil Kumar at Sanji Chatt Army helipad. After paying obeisance at the holy shrine along with CRPF officers he was briefed by Commandant Sunil Kumar about deployment of CRPF troops and sister agencies and security arrangements in connection with shrine and adjoining areas. On the occasion, SDG, J&K zone Bhagat took sainik sammelan at bhawan in which 4 officers, SDPO (Bhawan), SHO (Bhawan), 8 subordinate officers and 45 constables were present. He briefed present officials and troops about recent developments in the security scenario and recent attack at Pathankot Air base. He also had interaction with officers of SMVDSB, Police and CRPF. While addressing the officers he said that security requirements can vary considerably depending on the assets at risk and the potential threats to these assets. |
