Poonch, Jan 24: People of Dehra today alleged that the families of some local politicians, with the consent of some revenue authorities, had encroached upon a state land in the village and raised six structures on it.
The government land, that falls under khasra No 689, measures 253 kanals 9 marlas. A stadium is proposed to be constructed on it.
The locals alleged that the influential families had encroached upon two kanals of land by raising six illegal structures on it in the presence of some concerned revenue authorities and police. Neither the revenue authorities nor police took any legal action against them, they said.
When contacted, SDM, Mendhar, Sher Singh said directions had been issued to tehsildar to take the cognizance of matter and initiate an action against the guilty under law. Poonch DC M H Malik did not pick up the phone despite repeated calls. |
