JAMMU, Feb 4: A DSP, who was posted at Central Jail Srinagar has been placed under suspension for allegedly marrying a second woman without divorcing his first wife. The complaint against DSP Aiyaz Ahmad Malik was lodged with the Home Department by someone from his family. The proof of his second marriage was also submitted. Taking a serious note of the complaint, the Home Department ordered his suspension and issued letter No 57, ordering a probe against him. Following suspension, he was attached with the office of DIG, CKR Range, who has been asked by the Home Department to probe into his alleged second marriage and submit the report within 45 days, according to police sources. If it was proved that he had married a second woman without divorcing his first wife, a legal action would be taken against him, sources said. He was alleged to have solemnised the second marriage secretly and had been living with the woman, sources alleged, saying he was also alleged to have made the misuse of his power and uniform. |
