Jammu, Apr 23 : Condemning assault on NPP leaders, the Young Panthers today demanded judicial probe against brutality of Police. According to press release, a meeting of Young Panthers was held today at Gandhi Nagar, Jammu on the issue of atrocities unleashed by State government through the agency of traffic police on the leaders and workers of the J&K National Panthers Party. Jolted by the pro-Jammu voice being raised by the Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party the State government is using police machinery to silence the voice of the Panthers Party workers by harassing, beating and abusing Panther Party workers. "On 21/04/2016 DTI Vikas, ASI Dara Sigh along with other officials abused Anil Rakwal, Secretary Young Panthers, seized his motorcycle and threatened him to leave the Panthers party or else he would face dire consequences. Subsequently, on 23/04/2016 the above said traffic officials crossed all the limits and resorted to commission of serious offences against Jagdev Singh, Coordination Secretary JKNPP", said young panthers leaders. They further said that not only the above said officials physically assaulted Jadgev Singh but also robbed Rs. 50000/- cash, gift items like cloths, gold ornaments which they were carrying as they were going to attend "Sagan Ceremony" of his real niece at Bari Brahmana. "Cruelty of above said DTI Vikas and ASI Dara Singh did not stop there, they even dragged Jagdev Singh and minor children travelling in the car who were also manhandled by the officials and thereafter above said Jagdev Singh and his minor relatives were illegally detained in Police Post Nehru Market, Ware House Jammu and were released only after the members of State Legal Aid Committee intervened in the matter", they added. |
