Separatists 'create hurdles' in Handwara probe

Early Times Report

Srinagar, Apr 23: Days after separatists in Kashmir added fuel to fire by calling strikes and instigating stone pelting post civilian killings in Handwara, they now create hurdles in probe ordered by government and call suspended employees in the case as innocent.
Hardliner Separatist groups today said that suspension of seven government employees on the pretext of Handwara killings is what they said "the worst manifestation of slavery as instead of taking action against the perpetrators of five murders, so-called administration chose to sack these employees, who raised voice against the forces brutality and massacre."
In a statement issued by Hardliner Group of Geelani said that this action is unacceptable to them and they will not remain silent over this issue.
"We are monitoring closely the situation and if administration doesn't revoke the suspension order then Hurriyat Conference will raise its voice on this injustice and will explore strategy over it," the statement issued this evening said.
They said that "aftermath of innocent killings is the natural reaction which every person will show when he is not allowed to live a dignified life and when he is pushed to the wall.
And as far as employees are concerned they are the part and parcel of this society, so how come they remain silent when people get killed mercilessly."
Reacting to the statement of DC Kupwara wherein he had said that these employees took part in the protest or asked people to protest at that point of time, the statement said, "it indicated his mental fatigue only".
"Whatever the argument and reasons, Mehbooba Mufti led government gave following the Handwara Massacre cannot be justified by any means," the statement added.
"DC Kupwara is a communal minded person and we have received many complaints about him and we are in constant touch with the people of Kupwara and collecting the evidences against the said DC," the statement further said.
Lashing at SHO police Station Sopore, Hurriyat Conference (g) expressed serious concern for his "shameful, aggressive and dissipated behaviour" against Tehreek-e-Hurriyat workers including Manzoor Ahmad Kaloo and Hilal Ahmad Pattoo and lodging FIR against AbSubhan Wani, Mufti Abdul Ahad, MohdShabaan Khan and Nazir Ahmad Khawja. "The said officer is terrorizing people and he is among those police officers whose track record is worse and inhumane," the statement alleged.
"Hurriyat Conference is anguished over the arrest of more than 30 students by the said officer and demanding ransom money from their parents is height of terrorism. "Separatist said.
