Jammu, Apr 23 : Manav Ekta Mission, under the leadership of Mumtaz Ali, popularly known as "Sri M", is currently undertaking the Walk of Hope (Asha Yatra) 2015-16-a 7500 km padayatra for sadbhavana, peace and interfaith harmony, from Kanyakumari to Kashmir. Mumtaz Ali is a social reformer, an educationist and a spiritual luminary. Flagged off on 12th January 2015 at Vivekanand Rock Memorial, Kanyakumari, the padayatra will conclude in Srinagar in April 2016, covering approx 7500 kms, through 11 States in 500 days. The Walk of Hope (Asha Yatra) was given a warm welcome at Jammu City on 19th April 2016 after darshan at Peer Baba Kanju Sahib, near Kunjwani Chowk. Today, at Jammu, there was a City Walk, which began from Kalika Dham near Railway Station, on to Jain Temple-Gurudwara Sahib, Gandhinagar- Church, Gandhinagar and culminated at Sri Raghunath Mandir. Many people came out to participate, observe and encourage the Walkers. Jammu and Kashmir Police made necessary traffic management and security arrangements. People of Jammu have actively participated in the City Walk in all age groups for sadbhavana, peace and interfaith harmony. Wherever the Yatra passed through, the response of the common man was very positive and encouraging. In the evening, there was a function at Yasho Karan Park, Ranbireshwar Temple Complex, Jammu, where Mumtaz Ali addressed the people. This was followed by a cultural programme and screening of a film on Walk of Hope. |
