Srinagar, Apr 23: The Central University of Kashmir (CUK) today inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Help Foundation in order to conduct different awareness programmes and sensitization workshop vis-à-vis social issues prevalent in the society. CUK Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mehraj ud Din Mir and Help Foundation, Chairperson, Mrs. Nighat Shafi, signed the MoUs in the presence of the Registrar, Prof. M Afzal Zargar, Controller of Examinations, Dr. Nazir Ahmad Gilkar, DSW, Director, Dr. Fayaz A Nikka, Cultural Coordinator, Dr. Ihsan Malik, and Ms Humaira Farooq. Prof. Mehraj ud Din Mir hoped that the MoU shall help both the organizations to contribute in their own way to the society and to the stakeholders. The capacity building programmes and personality development workshop for the teachers and students would be conducted through the MoU, VC said. He also appreciated the work done by the Help Foundation in providing succor to the affected people living in remote corners of the Valley. Help Foundation, Chairperson, Mrs. Nighat Shafi, detailed out some of the initiatives, which her organization has taken in the recent past. Enumerating about the MoU, DSW, Director, Dr. Fayaz A Nikka, said the Help foundation will conduct few workshops for the faculty and students of the University in this year. He said the other objectives of entering into an MoU with the Help Foundation is to support in the cause of removing the hardships and problems of the needy. |
