Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 23: Kishore Kumar, presiding officer of Fast Track court, which has been constituted to deal with the cases related to women, today rejected the bail application of a rape accused. In a report filed with Arnia police station, victim's father Lal Din has alleged that her daughter had been abducted and raped by one Khadam Hussain, son of Mohammad Sharief of Ranjari Mohra, Rahya near Vijaypur in Samba district. According to the prosecution story, on 10.11.2015, Lal Din filed a written report with Arnia police station on November 10, 2015, stating therein that when he and his wife returned home from a doctor's clinic at Ramgarh on October 31, 2015, their daughter Noor Jahan was not at home. While they were searching for her, they came to know that Khadam had kidnapped her daughter in his vehicle and kept her at some unknown place. It was also alleged Khadam was a very dangerous person who had usually been indulging in the selling of girls. A case was then registered against the accused under sections 363 and 341 of RPC. During the course of investigation, section 376 was added to the case. "In a country, which has raised a concern about the safety and security of women, rape cases need to be visited with a different approach in the matter of bail. Such offences are required to be viewed seriously and considered as grave offences affecting the society as a whole and thereby posing a serious threat to the public sentiment," the court said. With these observations, the court rejected the bail application. |
