Jammu, Apr 23:To boost confidence and spread awareness about the "Beti Bachao,Beti Padhao" campaign, a seminar was organized by District Institute of Education and Training (DIET )which is a flagship programme of GOI and launched in the those districts where the sex ratio is less as compared to National level.
According to press release, in the seminar students from all the 15 zones of District Jammu were participated.
Principal of DIET, Jammu Mangal Dev addressed the gathering to spread the message of girl empowerment among the participants. He said, "Girls have equal rights to opportunities and should be taught to live with respect, be loved and not deemed a burden on parents. The evils in the form of dowry are making girls weak and vulnerable to crimes."
The programme was coordinated by Veena Kerni HOD and vote of thanks presented by Kalpna Jasrotia Senior Lecture. In the programme, GHSS Chowki Choura was bagged first prize, GHS Sangrampur second and GHSS Pargwal third. |
