Panchayat members accord warm welcome newly posted BDO Nagrota 4/24/2016 12:10:26 AM Early Times Report Nagrota, Apr 23: Villagers and Panchayat members today welcomed newly posted Block Development Officer (BDO) Nagrota Dr Syed Namaz during a function organized at Nagore village. The Panchayat members including Panches and Sarpanch organised a Gram Sabha in Nagore village where the new BDO Nagrota Dr Syed Namaz Nahin Tabasam Shah was accorded a warm welcome. During the Gram Sabha, the Sarpanch, panches, women and prominent citizens also participated and they demanded work in their village and construction of Panchayat Ghar. Highlighting their problems and issues, the villagers apprised new incumbent that there is no Panchayat Ghar and added that they have to hold meetings in a rented building. In her thanks gi8ving speech, the BDO Nagrota Dr Namaz thanked people for their cooperation and assured that work would be given to the people in their respective villages and job cards would also be provided to them within days. BDO Nagrota Dr Namaz also highlighted various central sponsored schemes before the villagers especially women like Jan Dhan Yojna, Suraksha Beema Youjna, Swach Bhaarat Abhiyan and other such schemes and urged locals to take maximum benefit of these schemes. She also said that Panchayat Ghar issue would be raised before the Deputy Commissioner, Jammu so that it would be constructed at earliest. She said that the developmental works would be taken up in Nagrota on priority bases. Earlier, the BDO Nagrota alongwith officials of Rural Development Department and Panchayat Members work sites to review the progress of different developmental works initiated by the department.
