Early Times Report

Anantnag, Apr 25: Charging National Conference Patron and former Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah of playing deceptive politics, ruling People's Democratic Party on Monday reminded the later that state has acceded to India. "If you go through the track record of Farooq Abdullah he has been changing the colors. In power he says one thing and out of powers he contradicts himself. We have acceded to India," newly appointed spokesman, Rafi Ahmad Mir told media on the sidelines of a workers convention held at Akad Aishmuqam.
However, in the same breath, he said that Kashmiris wish neighboring country to prosper at much as India. "When we want India to prosper at the same time we wish our neighbours should be stable," he added.
Pertinently, NC Parton Farooq Abdullah last week addressing a gathering in Anantnag claimed that Kashmiris love Pakistan and this love can't be removed by money from their hearts. On By-poll deferment issue, Mir said that his party doesn't want to hit tourism season the in state particularly in Anantnag.
"Impression being created by opposition that we (PDP) feared and deferred polls is totally wrong. Poll deferment by ECI on state government's request doesn't mean we fear. Situation wasn't condnsuive because of NIT and Kupwara incidents and more importantly we didn't want to damage the tourist season," Mir said, responding to accusation of NC, Congress.
Mir said that his party is ready to fight any election be it by-polls or Lok Sabaha. "By-polls can only be deferred for a month or two. We are ready to fight and confident to win with almighty's blessings," he said.
When asked about the revocation of Armed Forces Special Powers Act, (AFSPA), he said that PDP is only political party in state that sticks to its agenda be in power or not, however said that suitable atmosphere is required to take a call on such issues. Earlier, addressing the workers convention, Rafi Ahmad Mir asked the party workers to help people in redressing grievances.
