Early Times Report jammu, Apr 25: Some class IV employees in the Civil Secretariat are allegedly taking various departments for ride by impersonating themselves as senior officers and getting their personal works done. For the purpose, official landline telephones of the senior officers in Civil Secretariat are being misused by these lower rung officials to issue verbal instructions to the departments and officers, stationed outside the Secretariat. Some middle rung politicians are also allegedly hand in glove with these impersonators and encouraging the latter for getting their personal matters resolved through off the record official intervention without the knowledge of concerned officers. Repeated instances of telephonic calls by the impersonating officials have come to light and the matter is also in the knowledge of Government, which is planning to devise some strategy to keep a check on such calls. However, as the Civil Secretariat is going to close in Winter capital of the State, no action could be taken as of now, sources said. According to the sources, a driver of top officers was recently caught making such calls and threatening a Revenue official. However, when the said Revenue official approached the Civil Secretariat for clarifying his position, he came to know that no such call was made by the concerned officer. As the needle of suspicion moved towards the driver, he admitted that the call was made by him, following which he was immediately shifted from the duty, sources explained. In another instance, an ex-Corporator of BJP was found involved in managing such fake calls from the Civil Secretariat and getting some personal works done. However, again no action was initiated against the said leader as well as the peon, who had made the call, sources informed. |
