SAC directs regular probe against ex-minister Wani 8He was alleged to have hijacked Doda Municipality powers 4/25/2016 11:08:46 PM Early Times Report jammu, Apr 25: Retired judge and SAC (state accountability commission) member J P Singh has ordered a regular inquiry against ex-minister Abdul Majid Wani for his alleged act of 'hijacking' powers of Doda Municipality when he was a minister. He also directed Wani to remain present in person before the full bench of the commission on April 27, 2016 for the commencement of the regular enquiry. After hearing the two sides, Justice Singh converted preliminary inquiry into regular inquiry for probing the allegations levelled against the ex-minister. It was alleged in the complaint that the ex-minister, in league with executive officer and administrator of Municipal Committee, Doda, approved many works in violation of various centrally sponsored schemes just to take political mileage. It was also alleged that Wani had usurped the powers of the municipal committee as the said works were beyond his competence and contrary to the scope of J&K Municipal Act.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
